ABOUT WE BIKE TUSCANY
We Bike Tuscany offers private and small group fully-guided multi day tours in Tuscany, Sicily, the Dolomites and beyond. Though now based in the US, we were "born" in Italy, and pride ourselves on remaining one of the few truly "boutique" bike tour companies of the region. And as the term implies, that means personalized service and attention, as well as an experience that, we think, is just a little more special, a little more "authentic," and definitely different from the others.
After working as a television writer for many years, WBT co-owner, Jodie Scholz, finally gave in, chucked her glamorous Hollywood lifestyle and devoted herself full time to her real passions: travel, biking, food, wine and Italy!
Her knowledge and love of the country, along with her tireless and never ending quest for that one of a kind, extra-special ristorante or trattoria, extra-special inn or hotel, and extra-special, extra-cool excursion, makes her invaluable to We Bike Tuscany. She agrees that in keeping our tours private, or groups small, we can go the extra mile in catering to our guests, while at the same time keeping alive the spirit of a true biking adventure with fun, spontaneity and - most importantly - the thrill of discovery. In her own experience, she found that with larger or more "corporate-feeling" group tours, these vital elements (or "X-factors") seemed somehow lacking, hence her resolve this never happen at WBT. It is her mission, after all, not just to meet and exceed each and every expectation, but to enthrall, inspire and excite. To make you feel as she did on her very first bike tour (with Marco!) all those years ago.
I Bike Tuscany
Florentine Marco Vignoli, a former bicycle racer and WBT co-owner, founded I Bike Tuscany. After years of working as a trip leader in Italy for a number of American-based companies, he felt it was time to start his own small, personalized business – for a very personalized service – in the region that above all others in the world seems to be made for cycling: Tuscany.
How we work
Our tours are private and therefore special, personalized and exclusive. The first day of the tour you will be picked up directly at your hotel, airport of arrival or train station and from there be transfered with our van to the tour starting point. You will always bike at your own pace. Your group is your family, your friends, your partner. You will cycle in complete relaxation enjoying this wonderful countryside, stopping whenever you want for pictures, rest, lunch or simply to enjoy a breathtaking view.
